February introduces practical improvements across Test management, TestCloud, and TrueTest that help teams move faster while maintaining better control over testing operations.

Here's what we have released:

TestCloud integration in Platform MCP

TestCloud capabilities are now integrated directly into the Platform MCP, allowing users connected through StudioAssist to access TestCloud features without leaving the conversation.

Why it matters:
This reduces context switching and enables teams to manage cloud test executions and retrieve artifacts directly through conversational workflows.

Capabilities

  • Seamless execution: Create, schedule, and run tests across public and private TestCloud environments.
  • Expanded toolset: Access 22 platform tools, including app management, tunnel management, and configuration updates.
  • Dynamic app management: Upload, delete, and list applications directly from the platform.

Cross-project dashboards (available on demand)

QA managers often oversee multiple projects, but previously had to switch between them to understand overall testing performance. Cross-project dashboards solve this by aggregating data from multiple projects into a single view.

Why it matters:
Leads and stakeholders can now monitor quality metrics across projects without manually stitching together information.

What’s included

  • Multi-project filtering: Select one or multiple projects and view aggregated data across dashboards.
  • Dynamic dependent filters: Iterations and user filters automatically adjust based on selected projects.
  • Automatic dashboard migration: Existing dashboards now support project filters without requiring manual updates.
  • Shared dashboard context: Shared links display selected project names in the header.

Faster artifact access for TestCloud runs

Artifact retrieval has been upgraded to make debugging test runs faster and easier. The platform now intelligently retrieves artifacts without requiring users to remember specific test run IDs.

Why it matters:
Teams can quickly access logs and diagnostics without manually searching for the correct run.

Highlights

  • Automatically defaults to the latest test run when no ID is provided.
  • Shows the five most recent runs for quick navigation.
  • Retrieve all artifacts in one request, including logs, profiling data, screenshots, and videos.

Artifacts supported

  • Command logs, Selenium and Appium logs, Device logs, Network logs, App profiling data, Screenshots, Video recordings.

Rerun failed tests

Users can now rerun only the failed test cases within a test run instead of executing the entire suite again.

Why it matters:
This helps teams validate bug fixes faster while avoiding the cost and time of full regression runs.

Benefits

  • Faster verification of defect fixes.
  • Reduced execution time for large test suites.
  • More efficient use of cloud resources.

TestCloud monitoring execution

The TestCloud monitoring view is now integrated directly into the execution tab, bringing detailed execution artifacts into the platform’s test run interface.

Why it matters:
Teams can monitor and debug runs without switching between different tools.

Where to find it

  • Test Run Details page, Test Result Detail page, and Test Result Drawer.

Note: This capability is currently available for test runs from the platform.

Video live streaming and live interaction for Linux executions

TestCloud now supports live video streaming and interaction during Linux test executions, allowing engineers to observe and interact with running tests in real time.

Why it matters:
Teams can debug issues immediately rather than waiting for the test run to complete.

Capabilities

  • Watch executions live through the TestCloud Artifacts tab
  • Interact directly with running tests for faster investigation
  • Debug unexpected behavior during execution

New optimized TestCloud execution engine

A new optimized execution mechanism has now been introduced in cloud executions.

Why it matters:
This upgrade improves test speed and reliability across cloud environments.

Performance improvements

  • Faster initialization:
    • openBrowser improved by 61%
    • startApplication improved by 32%
  • Shorter execution times:
    • Overall test duration reduced by approximately 15%
  • Improved cloud performance:
    • Linux execution outperforms other providers by 11%

Assertion support for TrueTest flows (Beta)

TrueTest now allows testers to add assertions directly to steps within generated flows, making automated tests more meaningful and reusable.

Previously, TrueTest captured user interactions but did not include verification logic. Testers had to manually add assertions in Katalon Studio, and those assertions were lost whenever flows were regenerated.

Why it matters:
This update significantly reduces manual effort and ensures verification logic persists across regenerated tests.

Capabilities

  • Add assertions to specific flow steps using custom scripts.
  • Store assertions at the flow-step level.
  • Automatically cascade assertions to matching steps across flows in the same journey map.
  • Preserve assertions when generating new maps.

Custom roles and permissions

Admins can now create custom roles with tailored permission sets, allowing organizations to control better how users access and manage testing resources.

Why it matters:
Many teams have complex responsibilities across QA, development, and management roles. Custom roles make it easier to align permissions with real team workflows while maintaining security and governance.

Capabilities

  • Create and manage custom roles with configurable permission sets.
  • Assign roles based on team responsibilities and workflows.
  • Improve governance and reduce risk from overly broad access rights.

Wrapping up

February focuses on improving how teams manage, execute, and validate tests at scale.

From cross-project dashboards and customizable access controls to faster and more interactive cloud execution and stronger verification capabilities in TrueTest, these updates streamline testing workflows while giving teams greater visibility and control.

As Katalon continues to evolve, our goal remains the same: helping engineering teams deliver quality software faster with less operational friction.
