Katalon Named a G2 Leader in Test Management for Fall 2026

When a QA team outgrows a spreadsheet, the fix is rarely more spreadsheets. It is one place where test cases, execution history, defects, and approvals live together, so a release manager does not have to reconstruct who tested what from three different tools the night before a launch.

G2's Fall 2026 reports put a number on how well Katalon does that. Katalon is a Leader in the Test Management category overall, a Leader in the Mid-Market segment specifically, and a Regional Leader in Enterprise Test Management for Asia Pacific.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Katalon's G2 Fall 2026 Test Management results, at a glance:
• A Leader in the overall Test Management Grid, global, all company sizes.
• A Leader in the Mid-Market segment report specifically.
• A Regional Leader in Enterprise Test Management for Asia Pacific.
• Part of 10 total Test Management badges earned this cycle, Katalon's first in this category.

Here is what each of those actually measures, and why the wording matters.

What Katalon earned in G2's Fall 2026 Test Management report

G2 publishes its Grid reports quarterly, and Fall 2026 is the first cycle where Katalon has verified badge data in the Test Management category specifically, separate from the Automation Testing, DevOps, and Software Testing badges Katalon earned in Summer 2026. Three results anchor this cycle.

Badge label Segment Region
Leader All segments Global
Leader Mid-Market Global
Regional Leader Enterprise Asia Pacific

Those three are part of 10 unique Test Management badges Katalon earned this cycle in total, spanning segment and regional reports. You can see the full category, and how other vendors compare, on G2's Test Management category page.

"Leader" vs. "Regional Leader" vs. "High Performer": what the wording means

G2 scores every Grid on two axes. Satisfaction comes from review scores, weighted toward ease of use, meeting requirements, and quality of support, with older reviews losing influence over time. Market Presence combines review volume with signals like company size and web authority. Leaders score highly on both; High Performers score highly on satisfaction without yet the market presence to match. G2 also sets a floor before it publishes a Grid at all: at least 150 category reviews, with at least 6 products carrying 10 or more reviews each. Full detail is in G2's research and scoring methodology.

Segment matters because G2 splits reviewers by company size: Small Business is 50 employees or fewer, Mid-Market is 51 to 1,000, and Enterprise is 1,001 or more. A segment Grid only includes reviews from that band, so the Mid-Market and Enterprise reports are scored from different groups of reviewers. Region works the same way: a "Regional Leader" badge is scored from reviewers in that region specifically, and G2's own badge art prints "Regional Leader," not "Leader," to keep that distinction visible.

That distinction matters here specifically because Katalon's global Enterprise badge is High Performer. Leader status for Enterprise Test Management only appears regionally, in Asia and Asia Pacific. The accurate claim is a global Leader overall and for Mid-Market, and a Regional Leader for Enterprise in Asia Pacific, not a blanket "Leader in Enterprise."

Why the Mid-Market Leader badge matters for growing QA teams

G2 defines Mid-Market by company size: organizations with 51 to 1,000 employees. Katalon TestOps, part of Katalon True Platform, supports teams managing manual, automated, and AI-generated tests across connected workflows.

Katalon True Platform brings test cases, manual and automated executions, execution evidence, and reporting into one platform, with linkages to requirements, releases, and defects. That kind of consolidation is also what shows up in Katalon's own research: in the 2025 State of Software Quality Report, 55% of QA professionals named insufficient time for testing as their biggest challenge, and half said their organization struggles to fund the tools it needs.

Enterprise reviews read differently, and that is expected. At 1,001 or more employees, QA is usually distributed across business units, sometimes with outsourced delivery partners, and the question shifts from "can I get started" to "can leadership see what is happening across every team." Katalon's Regional Leader placement in Enterprise Test Management for Asia Pacific reflects that.

What it does support is the governance case Katalon makes at the platform level: Katalon True Platform is built as the system of record connecting manual, automated, and AI-generated testing with an audit trail attached, which is exactly what an Enterprise buyer evaluating vendors across a region is looking to verify before committing.

Thank you, genuinely

None of these numbers are Katalon's to take credit for. They come from reviewers who validated their identity with G2 and took the time to describe what worked and what did not. If Katalon's test management has changed how your team works, leaving a review is one of the more useful things you can do for the next person evaluating it.

And if you are that person, you can see Katalon True Platform for yourself, or book a demo and discuss what a rollout would look like for a team your size.
